Went to the show last night (Thurs). Some highlights:
- Cibie Oscar SC
driving lights. Had been quoted $520/pair at Opposite Lock. Were $385/pair at Duncan's at the show. Fitting on a unibar, with wiring loom $149, and they even discounted on that with other things. Paul from Duncan's said he had them on his 60 series and thought they are great. (It wasn't just a line - he's for real.)
- There were also hot prices on Lightforce 170 and 240 lights at various
places. (I wasn't particularly noticing because I wanted the Cibies, but lots of people seemed to be buying them.)
- Bushranger Max-Air compressor $295, also at Duncan's. They were walking out the door.
- Airflow
snorkel $400 fitted, again at Duncan's.
- Mosquito clicker $20 - for treating mozzie bites. My partner, who reacts badly to bites, is trying it out: she can't say yet whether they work.
- Combo shovel from 4x4 Equip, a small business in Melb. $72 might seem a lot for a shovel, but it was really
well made. Fibreglass shaft unscrews, so you can store in vehicle. Also has handle for use as short-handled shovel. Quite sturdy too. Means not having to put long-handled shovel on roof rack as I do now. They had other good things too, included a drop-down tray table that is under development, and a light pole.
- Aussie Disposals
clearing superceded maps at $2 each.
- New book from Craig Lewis and Cathy Savage, 4WD getaways - $45.
- Folding 11L buckets $12.
- Hot competition over fridges and portable
power sources (generators, solar panels,
power packs, etc).
- Lots of interesting camping gear from many different retailers.
Huge ARB and TJM stands didn't seem matched by sales!
BTW - bring your RACV
membership card (not tag) for discount on entry price.
